About the program

Mentorship built on consistency, not one-time encouragement.

My Brother's Keeper began as a national call to close persistent opportunity gaps for young men of color. In Fort Worth, that call turned into a daily practice: mentors who show up, follow up, and track what actually changes for a student — not just a single motivational visit.

My Sister's Keeper extends that same model to young women, because consistent, caring adult relationships matter regardless of who's asking for help.

MBK Connect is how we keep that consistency honest. Every conversation, referral, and milestone lives in one place, so a student's story doesn't depend on any one person's memory.

What we track for every student

Attendance

Consistent presence is the first sign something is working.

Academics

Grades, credits, and progress toward graduation.

Behavior

Support before a small issue becomes a bigger one.

Community involvement

Leadership, service, and belonging beyond the classroom.

Programs

Two programs, one standard of care.

Every student enters through their school, a community event, or a direct referral, and is matched with a mentor who stays with them.

MBK

My Brother's Keeper

One-on-one and group mentoring for young men, paired with college and career readiness support, home and school follow-up, and a mentor who checks in — not just at events, but week to week.

MSK

My Sister's Keeper

The same standard of consistent mentorship, built around the specific challenges young women in Fort Worth schools navigate — academically, socially, and at home.
